Do you need to get fit before starting CrossFit?

The short answer is no.
The magical thing about CrossFit is that everything we do is universally scalable so we are able to meet you where you’re at. We differ the workouts by degree but not by kind.
I have had a 24 year old NFL lineman, regional and Games podium finisher workout out alongside the soccer mom and 60 year old business person who has done nothing but sit behind a desk for the last 35 years. It’s so much fun to all go through it together and know that each person was equally challenged.
In CrossFit you are there not only to be led by fitness professionals through motivation but also to receive coaching. It is imperative for each person to be open to receiving constructive criticism each time they walk in the door, their progress hinges upon it. Leave your ego at the door!
Often times people think of lifting big weights and doing fancy gymnastics moves but nobody needs to be intimidated. The coaches will give the green light on weight to be used safely, number of reps to complete, and scales and modifications for movements that are beyond our experience level.
You will be challenged in class but never beyond you comfort level. It is encouraged for everyone to compete but only against themselves.
